I have been back to the woodlands this week to take more shots – only to find the original dens have been destroyed and evolved into other constructions of various natures! Evolution on some scale…
Previous images selected by Zig are shown again just to show potential 5 x images for the series together in one post of my journal.
The first chosen image is shown with a lighter and then a darker edit for comparison. Personally I prefer the darker edit as it is a little more reticent in providing information to the viewer as to where the path goes etc…. We’ll see what the class think…
I need to work on continuity of colours / tones in editing.
My homage to Ellie Davies – with a bit of smoke in the mix…. I actually quite like these ones as I feel they portray a sense of mystery and intrigue.
Following are a couple of black and white images showing ICM and slow shutter speed.
I have also cropped these to 9×16 as I thought it was visually and aesthetically more pleasing on the eye than standard 2×3 ratio.
My preference is for the first one of these two images but I do not think I will include them in the final project as they do not sit well with the other images as a cohesive series so much. As a stand alone I prefer the first image out of the two.
And finally…… not to be included in the project, I hasten to add….. my dog – looking at me as if to say “What on earth are you doing in the bushes…??” (crazy lady & I don’t even own a cat….).
When I am out shooting H is invariably with me – she has the patience of a saint and even though she does not look like a ferocious beast to any would-be assailant, she is a deterrent none the less when we are alone in the middle of the park – health and safety and all that Zig ;-))
No animals were harmed in the making of these images (discounting my own nettle stings….)
